CRYPTO
One of the earliest cryptocurrency trading platforms in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region connecting digital assets with local users through a peer-to-peer marketplace, escrow infrastructure and a distributed physical network.
When crypto became local.
At a time when cryptocurrency markets were still emerging across the region, KurdWallet introduced a peer-to-peer model that allowed users to discover buyers and sellers directly.
The platform combined digital listings, user-to-user communication, escrow protection and a physical network of local representatives.
The result was a localized crypto marketplace designed around the realities of its users.
Not a bank.
Not a centralized exchange.
A marketplace.
A digital marketplace for people.
Create
an offer.
Sellers could publish advertisements, define their exchange rate, preferred payment method and transaction range, making their offers visible to potential buyers across the network.
Find
a trade.
Buyers could browse available offers according to price, location, payment method and seller reputation, then initiate a direct conversation with the counterparty.
The transaction stayed locked.
Escrow
before
release.
When a buyer initiated a transaction, the cryptocurrency was temporarily locked in KurdWallet's escrow system.
The buyer then completed the agreed payment directly with the seller through the selected payment method.
Once the seller confirmed receipt, the locked cryptocurrency was released to the buyer.
300+
local
representatives.
KurdWallet was never only a digital interface. It was built around a physical network of local representatives that connected cryptocurrency users with real people in cities across the Kurdistan Region.
At a time when digital payment infrastructure was still developing, users could find a nearby representative, visit them in person and complete a face-to-face transaction.
Crypto was face-to-face.
Users could search the KurdWallet network and identify nearby representatives through the platform. Instead of relying entirely on online payment systems, they could physically visit a local representative and conduct the transaction in person.
Many representatives displayed the KurdWallet identity at their locations, creating a visible bridge between the emerging digital economy and everyday local commerce.
This combination of a digital marketplace, escrow-based transactions and a distributed physical network became one of the defining characteristics of the KurdWallet model.
