Hose Production Line and Factory Setup

A hose (flexible hose / garden hose) production line is a complete industrial system designed to extrude an inner layer, apply textile reinforcement, extrude an outer layer, cool, mark, cut and package flexible hoses under controlled process conditions. The line produces reinforced hoses for gardening, industrial and general use.

From an industrial perspective, hose manufacturing is important because it combines precise extrusion of inner and outer layers, controlled textile braiding or knitting, accurate cooling and reliable cutting to achieve consistent diameter, flexibility and pressure resistance. The process relies on a defined sequence of unit operations that must be correctly engineered, sized and integrated.

Primary materials typically include PVC or rubber granules, reinforcing yarn and colourants. The core machinery set consists of extruders (typically 65 mm), braiding or knitting units, outer-layer extruders, cooling tanks (up to 6 m), haul-offs (up to 100 m/min), marking units, cutters and packaging equipment.

The Industrial Department supports investors who want to establish a new hose plant as well as existing operators who need repair, overhaul, capacity expansion or automation of their current lines. Projects can start from an empty site or from an operating facility that requires technical upgrading.

Whether the goal is a green-field turnkey hose plant in Iraq, Kurdistan Region, Afghanistan or other regional markets, or the modernization of an existing line in Iran, engineering, machinery supply or manufacturing, installation, commissioning and ongoing technical support can be provided under defined contractual scopes.

Production Line Overview

The hose production line is engineered as an integrated process system covering inner-layer extrusion, textile reinforcement, outer-layer extrusion, cooling, marking, cutting and packaging. Design capacity is determined during the engineering phase and can typically range from 60 to 80 kg per hour with line speeds up to 100 m/min.

Main machinery groups include inner extruders, braiding/knitting units, outer extruders, cooling tanks, haul-offs, marking units, cutters and packaging machines. Supporting infrastructure covers electrical power and process water.

Manpower requirements depend on the degree of automation. Quality control covers diameter, wall thickness, reinforcement integrity and package quality.

Manufacturing Process

  1. Inner Layer Extrusion – PVC or rubber is extruded as the inner tube (typically 65 mm extruder, 160–180 °C).
  2. Textile Reinforcement – Yarn is braided or knitted onto the inner layer.
  3. Outer Layer Extrusion – Outer cover is extruded over the reinforcement.
  4. Cooling – Hose is cooled in a water tank (up to 6 m).
  5. Haul-off, Marking and Cutting – Hose is pulled (up to 100 m/min), marked and cut to length.
  6. Packaging – Finished hose is coiled or packed.

Machinery & Equipment

  • Inner Extruder – Forms the inner tube (typically 65 mm, 22 kW). Position: first stage. Importance: foundation of hose quality. Quality impact: incomplete melting causes defects. Maintenance: screws, barrels and heaters. Sahi Rasa support covers design, installation, repair and spare parts.
  • Braiding or Knitting Unit – Applies textile reinforcement. Position: after inner extrusion. Importance: pressure resistance. Quality impact: incomplete reinforcement reduces burst strength. Maintenance: spindles, yarns and drives.
  • Outer Extruder and Cooling Tank – Applies cover and cools the hose. Position: mid-line. Importance: protection and dimensional stability. Quality impact: uneven cover or cooling affects appearance and flexibility. Maintenance: dies, water circulation and temperature control.
  • Haul-off, Marking Unit and Cutter – Pulls, marks and cuts the hose. Position: end of line. Importance: length accuracy and identification. Quality impact: uneven pull affects diameter. Maintenance: belts, drives, print heads and blades.

Factory Layout & Building Requirements

Typical areas include raw-material storage, extrusion and reinforcement hall, cooling and cutting, packaging, finished-goods storage, quality control, utilities and staff facilities. Exact area is determined during engineering.
