UPVC Profile Production Line and Factory Setup

A UPVC profile production line is a complete industrial system designed to compound PVC powder with additives, extrude the compound into window and door profiles, calibrate, cool, haul-off and cut the profiles under controlled process conditions. The line produces profiles for windows, doors and related building applications.

From an industrial perspective, UPVC profile manufacturing is important because it combines accurate dry blending, conical twin-screw extrusion, precise calibration and controlled cooling to achieve consistent dimensional accuracy, impact strength and surface quality. The process relies on a defined sequence of unit operations that must be correctly engineered, sized and integrated.

Primary materials typically include PVC powder, stabilizers, lubricants and colourants. The core machinery set consists of hot and cold mixers, conical twin-screw extruders (models SJZ55/110 to SJZ92/188, motor power 30–110 kW), die heads, calibration tables, vacuum cooling tanks, haul-offs and cutters.

The Industrial Department supports investors who want to establish a new UPVC profile plant as well as existing operators who need repair, overhaul, capacity expansion or automation of their current lines. Projects can start from an empty site or from an operating facility that requires technical upgrading.

Whether the goal is a green-field turnkey profile plant in Iraq, Kurdistan Region, Afghanistan or other regional markets, or the modernization of an existing line in Iran, engineering, machinery supply or manufacturing, installation, commissioning and ongoing technical support can be provided under defined contractual scopes.

Production Line Overview

The UPVC profile line is engineered as an integrated process system covering dry blending, extrusion, calibration, cooling, haul-off, cutting and packaging. Design capacity is determined during the engineering phase and can typically range from 150 to 350 kg per hour depending on profile section and extruder size.

Typical line speeds are 0.5–5 m/min. Main machinery groups include hot/cold mixers, conical twin-screw extruders, die heads, calibration tables, vacuum cooling tanks, haul-offs and cutters. Supporting infrastructure covers electrical power and process water.

Manpower requirements depend on the degree of automation. Quality control covers dimensional accuracy, impact strength and surface finish.

Manufacturing Process

  1. Dry Blending – PVC powder and additives are mixed in hot (120–140 °C) and cold mixers.
  2. Extrusion – Compound is melted and formed in a conical twin-screw extruder.
  3. Calibration and Cooling – Profile dimensions are set and the profile is cooled under vacuum.
  4. Haul-off and Cutting – Profile is pulled and cut to length.
  5. Packaging – Finished profiles are packed.

Machinery & Equipment

  • Hot and Cold Mixer – Prepares the dry blend. Position: first stage. Importance: uniformity of formulation. Quality impact: incomplete mixing causes processing problems. Maintenance: blades, seals and temperature controls. Sahi Rasa support covers design, installation, repair and spare parts.
  • Conical Twin-Screw Extruder – Melts and forms the profile (SJZ55/110 to SJZ92/188, 30–110 kW). Position: core of the line. Importance: determines output and profile quality. Quality impact: incorrect temperature or screw design affects surface and strength. Maintenance: screws, barrels and heaters.
  • Die Head, Calibration Table and Vacuum Cooling Tank – Forms and sizes the profile. Position: after extruder. Importance: dimensional accuracy. Quality impact: incorrect vacuum or cooling causes deformation. Maintenance: dies, vacuum system and water circulation.
  • Haul-off and Cutter – Pulls and cuts the profile. Position: end of line. Importance: length accuracy and production speed. Quality impact: uneven pull affects dimensions. Maintenance: belts, drives and cutting blades.

Factory Layout & Building Requirements

Typical areas include raw-material storage, compounding, extrusion hall, calibration and cooling, cutting and packaging, finished-profile storage, quality control, utilities and staff facilities. Exact area is determined during engineering.
