Corrugated Hose Production Line and Factory Setup

A corrugated (flexible) hose production line is a complete industrial system designed to extrude PVC or similar compounds into flexible corrugated hoses under controlled process conditions. The line produces hoses of various diameters for drainage, electrical protection, irrigation and industrial applications.

From an industrial perspective, corrugated hose manufacturing is important because it combines precise extrusion, forming of the corrugated profile, cooling, pulling and cutting to achieve consistent diameter, flexibility and crush resistance. The process relies on a defined sequence of unit operations that must be correctly engineered, sized and integrated.

Primary materials typically include PVC granules or powder, stabilizers, plasticizers and colourants. The core machinery set consists of extruders (screw diameter 45–65 mm), forming dies, cooling tanks, haul-offs, cutters and packaging equipment.

The Industrial Department supports investors who want to establish a new corrugated hose plant as well as existing operators who need repair, overhaul, capacity expansion or automation of their current lines. Projects can start from an empty site or from an operating facility that requires technical upgrading.

Whether the goal is a green-field turnkey hose plant in Iraq, Kurdistan Region, Afghanistan or other regional markets, or the modernization of an existing line in Iran, engineering, machinery supply or manufacturing, installation, commissioning and ongoing technical support can be provided under defined contractual scopes.

Production Line Overview

The corrugated hose line is engineered as an integrated process system covering material preparation, extrusion, forming, cooling, pulling, cutting and packaging. Design capacity is determined during the engineering phase and can typically range from 40 to 100 kg per hour depending on diameter and wall thickness.

Typical product specifications include outer diameter 10–63 mm and line speeds of 5–15 m/min. The overall process flow follows a defined sequence: material preparation, extrusion and forming, cooling, pulling, cutting and packaging.

Main machinery groups include extruders, forming dies (42–72 forming modules typical), cooling tanks, haul-offs, cutters and packaging machines. Supporting infrastructure covers electrical power and process water.

Manpower requirements depend on the degree of automation. Quality control covers diameter, wall thickness, flexibility and package integrity.

Manufacturing Process

  1. Material Preparation – PVC and additives are prepared and mixed.
  2. Extrusion and Forming – Material is melted (160–200 °C) and formed into the corrugated profile.
  3. Cooling – Hose is cooled in a water tank.
  4. Pulling and Cutting – Hose is pulled at 5–15 m/min and cut to length.
  5. Packaging – Finished hose is coiled or packed.

Machinery & Equipment

  • Extruder – Melts and pumps the compound (screw diameter 45–65 mm). Position: first process stage. Importance: foundation of hose quality. Quality impact: incomplete melting or contamination causes defects. Maintenance: screws, barrels and heaters. Sahi Rasa support covers design, installation, repair and spare parts.
  • Forming Die – Creates the corrugated profile (typically 42–72 modules). Position: after extruder. Importance: defines flexibility and crush resistance. Quality impact: incorrect forming affects dimensional accuracy. Maintenance: modules and cooling channels.
  • Cooling Tank – Stabilizes the profile. Position: after forming. Importance: dimensional stability. Quality impact: insufficient cooling causes deformation. Maintenance: water circulation and temperature control.
  • Haul-off and Cutter – Pulls and cuts the hose. Position: end of line. Importance: length accuracy and production speed. Quality impact: uneven pull affects diameter. Maintenance: belts, drives and cutting blades.

Factory Layout & Building Requirements

Typical areas include raw-material storage, extrusion hall, cooling and cutting, packaging, quality control, utilities and staff facilities. Exact area is determined during engineering.
