Nabat (Rock Candy) Production Line and Factory Setup

A nabat (rock candy) production line is an industrial system designed to produce crystalline sugar sticks or pieces through controlled boiling, concentration, crystallization, drying, and packaging. Typical products include wooden-stick nabat, branch nabat, granular nabat, and flavored or colored variants.

The process requires precise control of sugar concentration (Brix), crystallization temperature, and drying to achieve clear crystals, uniform size, and good shelf stability.

Main raw materials include sugar, water, saffron, rose water, food colors, essences, wooden sticks or threads, and citric acid. Core equipment consists of cooking kettles, concentration tanks, crystallization vats, cabinet dryers, and packaging machines.

The Industrial Department supports new investors establishing a nabat factory and existing plant owners requiring repair, overhaul, capacity expansion, or automation. Projects may start from an empty site or from an operating facility needing technical upgrading.

Engineering, machinery supply or manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and technical support can be provided for projects in Iran, Iraq, Kurdistan Region, Afghanistan, and other regional markets under defined contractual scopes.

Production Line Overview

The nabat line is a batch or semi-continuous process system. Capacity is determined during engineering (typical ranges depending on kettle and vat sizes). The process sequence is: sugar cooking and concentration, transfer to crystallization vats with sticks or threads, controlled cooling and crystal growth, removal and drying, and packaging.

Main machinery includes cooking kettle (500–3000 L, SS 304), concentration tank (500–2000 L), crystallization vat (1000–5000 L), cabinet dryer (500–2000 kg), and packaging machine (500–2000 packs/h).

Supporting infrastructure covers electrical power, steam or gas, process water, and adequate space for crystallization and drying. Manpower is typically 4–10 persons per shift.

Support can be examined for projects in Iran, Iraq, Kurdistan Region (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok), Baghdad, Basra, Mosul, Afghanistan (Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif), Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Syria, Oman, Jordan, Turkey, Armenia, and Georgia.

Manufacturing Process

  1. Cooking – Sugar and water are boiled in the kettle to the target Brix (typically 75–80).
  2. Concentration – The syrup is further concentrated and cleaned of impurities.
  3. Crystallization – Syrup is transferred to vats containing sticks or threads and cooled slowly to allow crystal growth (process may take several days).
  4. Drying – Formed nabat is removed and dried in a cabinet dryer (40–50 °C).
  5. Packaging – Dried nabat is packed according to customer requirements.

Machinery & Equipment

  • Cooking Kettle – Boils sugar solution under controlled heat (500–3000 L).
  • Concentration Tank – Further concentrates and clarifies the syrup.
  • Crystallization Vat – Allows controlled crystal growth on sticks or threads.
  • Cabinet Dryer – Removes residual moisture at low temperature.
  • Packaging Machine – Packs the finished product.

Support is available for design, manufacturing or procurement, installation, commissioning, repair, overhaul, refurbishment, automation, and spare parts.

Factory Layout & Building Requirements

Typical areas: raw material storage, cooking and concentration zone, crystallization area (with temperature control), drying, packaging, finished goods storage, utilities, and staff facilities.

Utilities

  • Electricity: 380 V three-phase, 20–50 kW
  • Steam or gas: 100–300 kg/h equivalent
