Pastille and Gummy Candy Production Line and Factory Setup

A pastille (gummy candy) production line is a complete industrial system designed to cook syrup, deposit into moulds, cool and package soft candies under controlled process conditions. The line produces pastilles, gummies and similar confectionery products.

From an industrial perspective, pastille manufacturing is important because it combines precise syrup cooking, controlled deposition, efficient cooling and reliable demoulding to achieve consistent texture, shape and flavour. The process relies on a defined sequence of unit operations that must be correctly engineered, sized and integrated.

Primary materials typically include sugar, glucose, gelatin or pectin, citric acid, colours and flavourings. The core machinery set consists of cooking tanks (500–2000 L), vacuum systems, depositors (1000–5000 pieces/h), cooling tunnels and packaging machines.

The Industrial Department supports investors who want to establish a new pastille plant as well as existing operators who need repair, overhaul, capacity expansion or automation of their current lines. Projects can start from an empty site or from an operating facility that requires technical upgrading.

Whether the goal is a green-field turnkey confectionery plant in Iraq, Kurdistan Region, Afghanistan or other regional markets, or the modernization of an existing line in Iran, engineering, machinery supply or manufacturing, installation, commissioning and ongoing technical support can be provided under defined contractual scopes.

Production Line Overview

The pastille line is engineered as an integrated process system covering syrup preparation, cooking, vacuum treatment, depositing, cooling, demoulding and packaging. Design capacity is determined during the engineering phase and can typically range from 1000 to 5000 pieces per hour.

Main machinery groups include cooking tanks, vacuum systems, depositors, cooling tunnels and packaging machines. Supporting infrastructure covers electrical power, steam and process water.

Manpower requirements depend on the degree of automation. Quality control covers texture, moisture, shape and package integrity.

Manufacturing Process

  1. Syrup Preparation – Sugar, glucose, gelatin/pectin and additives are prepared.
  2. Cooking – Syrup is cooked at 100–120 °C in tanks of 500–2000 L.
  3. Vacuum Treatment – Air is removed and concentration is adjusted.
  4. Depositing – Product is deposited into moulds (1000–5000 pieces/h).
  5. Cooling and Demoulding – Product is cooled and removed from moulds.
  6. Packaging – Finished candies are packed.

Machinery & Equipment

  • Cooking Tank – Cooks the syrup (500–2000 L). Position: first process stage. Importance: concentration and texture foundation. Quality impact: incorrect temperature or time affects gel strength. Maintenance: agitators, jackets and temperature sensors. Sahi Rasa support covers design, installation, repair and spare parts.
  • Vacuum System – Removes air and adjusts concentration. Position: after cooking. Importance: product clarity and density. Quality impact: residual air causes bubbles. Maintenance: vacuum pumps and vessels.
  • Depositor – Fills moulds (1000–5000 pieces/h). Position: core stage. Importance: shape accuracy and weight. Quality impact: inaccurate deposit causes weight variation. Maintenance: nozzles, pumps and moulds.
  • Cooling Tunnel and Packaging Machine – Solidifies and packs the product. Position: end of line. Importance: final texture and presentation. Quality impact: incomplete cooling causes deformation. Maintenance: refrigeration, conveyors and sealing systems.

Factory Layout & Building Requirements

Typical areas include raw-material storage, cooking, depositing, cooling, packaging, quality control, utilities and staff facilities. Exact area is determined during engineering.

Utilities

  • Electricity: 380 V three-phase, 50–100 kW
  • Steam: 100–300 kg/h
  • Water: 5–15 m³/day

Turnkey Factory Setup

An investor can start from an empty site. The project can be accompanied through feasibility, engineering, design, machinery, installation, commissioning, training and commercial production.

EPC & PMC

Projects can be executed under EPC or PMC approaches within defined contracts.

Machinery Repair

Existing pastille lines can request inspection, repair and spare-parts support for cookers, depositors, cooling systems and packaging machines.
