Toast Bread Production Line and Factory Setup
A toast bread production line is a complete industrial system designed to mix, divide, mould, proof, bake, cool, slice and package sandwich/toast bread under controlled process conditions. The line produces sliced toast loaves for retail and food-service markets.
From an industrial perspective, toast bread manufacturing is important because it combines precise dough development, accurate dividing and moulding, controlled proofing and baking, and reliable slicing and packaging to achieve consistent volume, soft crumb and shelf life. The process relies on a defined sequence of unit operations that must be correctly engineered, sized and integrated.
Primary materials typically include flour, water, yeast, salt, sugar, oil, milk powder and improvers. The core machinery set consists of spiral mixers, dough dividers, toast moulds, final provers, rotary ovens (200–250 °C), coolers, slicers and packaging machines.
The Industrial Department supports investors who want to establish a new toast bread plant as well as existing operators who need repair, overhaul, capacity expansion or automation of their current lines. Projects can start from an empty site or from an operating facility that requires technical upgrading.
Whether the goal is a green-field turnkey bakery plant in Iraq, Kurdistan Region, Afghanistan or other regional markets, or the modernization of an existing line in Iran, engineering, machinery supply or manufacturing, installation, commissioning and ongoing technical support can be provided under defined contractual scopes.
Production Line Overview
The toast bread line is engineered as an integrated process system covering dough mixing, bulk fermentation, dividing, moulding, final proofing, baking, cooling, slicing and packaging. Design capacity is determined during the engineering phase and industrial lines can reach around 5000 kg per hour depending on configuration.
Main machinery groups include spiral mixers, dividers, moulders, provers, rotary ovens, coolers, slicers and packaging machines. Supporting infrastructure covers electrical power, gas and process water.
Manpower requirements depend on the degree of automation. Quality control covers volume, crumb texture, moisture and package integrity.

Manufacturing Process
- Dough Mixing – Ingredients are mixed in a spiral mixer.
- Bulk Fermentation and Dividing – Dough is fermented and divided into pieces.
- Moulding – Pieces are moulded into toast pans.
- Final Proofing – Dough is proofed in the final prover.
- Baking – Bread is baked at 200–250 °C in a rotary oven.
- Cooling, Slicing and Packaging – Loaves are cooled, sliced and packed.
Machinery & Equipment
- Spiral Mixer and Dough Divider – Prepares and portions the dough. Position: first stages. Importance: gluten development and weight accuracy. Quality impact: incomplete mixing or inaccurate dividing affects volume and uniformity. Maintenance: bowls, hooks, knives and drives. Sahi Rasa support covers design, installation, repair and spare parts.
- Toast Moulder and Final Prover – Shapes and proofs the dough. Position: mid-line. Importance: shape and volume. Quality impact: incorrect proofing affects final quality. Maintenance: moulds, belts and humidity controls.
- Rotary Oven – Bakes at 200–250 °C. Position: core stage. Importance: crust and crumb quality. Quality impact: incorrect temperature profile affects colour and moisture. Maintenance: burners, decks and controls.
- Cooler, Slicer and Packaging Machine – Finish and pack the product. Position: end of line. Importance: presentation and shelf life. Quality impact: incomplete cooling or packing causes staling or damage. Maintenance: conveyors, blades and sealing systems.
